Ho Ho!! It’s Christmas and the little ones are most excited as the festival of joy and love blesses them with a magical feeling. Every kid out there waits for their gifts in the morning and believes in Santa. Decorating the Christmas Tree, eating cakes and chocolate goodies and engaging in craft making are some of the essential Do’s of Christmas which every child gets involved with. We at Winning Stree present 6 DIY Craft Ideas for you to try your hands on alongside your little elves.
1.Mini Christmas Trees
Cut out a Cardboard in the shape of a triangle. Color the cardboard with your choicest colors and then stick anything you wish to on the cutout to decorate it. You can paste feathers, ribbons, colorful straws, strings, cotton balls and anything else that suits your taste.
2. Snow Man
Take two newspapers and make a small ball and a big ball out of them. Wrap these with Foil papers and stick them together by using fevicol or an elastic rubber band. Now apply some binding agent on the surface and wrap it all up with cotton. Take peppercorns and paste them as eyes. Take a carrot or red paper and shape it as hat and lips and paste the same. Paste some used buttons as buttons and red ribbon for muffler and you are done.
3. Paper Straw Christmas Tree
Take two equal sized, colorful, and bright straws. Paste them together. Now take straws and cut them in various sizes. Paste the largest one at the bottom of the stick and smallest at the top making it a pyramid lookalike. Cut a glittery paper in a star shape and paste it on top. Give a small ribbon at the top to be able to hang these from your Christmas Tree.
4. Popsicle Stick Puppets
Cut the shape of an animal or Santa himself for that matter. Paste it on the top of the Popsicle stick and give it eyes, lips, and a nose. Secure with a cello tape and color it or decorate it as per your wish. Your puppets out of Popsicle sticks are ready.
5. Reindeer Hat
Take a chart paper and fold it in the shape of a circle crown as per the size of your child’s head. Pin it to secure it in place. Check if it fits accurately on your child’s head. Give it Eyes and Nose. Take hand impressions of your kids on a separate chart paper or hand-shaped cut outs and paste them on the crown as horns. Your reindeer DIY hat is ready to be adorned on your little one’s head.
6. Christmas Cards
One of the favorites, card making comes handy for your kids as it can be also handed over to their grandparents, family members, teachers or friends during Christmas. Fold a chart paper in the shape of a card. Take some glossy or glittery paper and cut it out in the shape of a bell or tree etc. and decorate it with things starting from ribbons to buttons and more.
