1. Who are you and how are you into what you do?
I am a fashion designer by profession and I love designing clothes! My profession has become my passion and this is why I am here to serve International Buyers.
2. Tell us about your journey…
I am into the garment line for the last 17 years. From Merchandiser to MD, the journey was not at all easy. A woman has to play lots of roles in life and the same goes for me! I am a Daughter /Wife/Mother /Friend and taking care of all the areas wasn’t easy. But with firm determination and with my family’s support my journey became easier.
3. What is the importance of fashion in our lives?
Fashion makes our life colorful and changes our life with time or according to the time. It makes all of us feel good whenever we follow fashion and trends! 🙂
4. Why did you pursue fashion buying of everything else?
I love my wardrobe full of fashionable clothes, maybe this is why I ventured out in Fashion and chose to become a fashion designer!
5. Where do you operate from and how were you able to venture out Internationally?
To be very honest with you, I started my company in 2009 and my base was my home. I have worked in a buying house in the past and have always believed to maintain a good relationship on personal and business ground. All my buyers were happy with my work. In 2008, I left my job due to some medical issues and I took almost a year to recover with all my illness and when I restarted looking for Jobs, I didn’t get a good opportunity.
At that moment I thought I will try to open my own Buying house! I got lucky and my friend who is a designer in LA, USA supported me and introduced me to her company and here I entered the international market and till now we are working with each other.
6. How much is the west open to the Indian Fashion-Sense or Indian Designers?
It’s good if you are passionate about your work! They understand good work and are open to high quality and unique designs.
7. Difficulties you faced when fulfilling your dreams/aspirations…
Just a simple way of working is to be grounded and always soft to your people and respect what they are doing for you this is the key to fulfill all your dreams and overcome all your obstacles.

I love what I Do!! Coming this long with my designs walking the International ramp has been the WinningStree, the Women Empowerment Moment for me.

11. How was it representing India in your recent fashion show?
Oh! that was really WOW, I got goosebumps when I saw my designs on-ramp!
12. How is the International Market presently for the Fashion Industry?
When it comes to the International arena we have to work hard to get more and more export business. We also need to ensure timely deliveries and high quality of products to hold the market!
