1.Who are you and how are you into what you do?

Dhruti

I am Dhruti Mehta, Founder of Love Doodle an Experiential and Activity-based gifting / celebration Management Company that helps people appreciate every relationship and celebrate every special occasion of their lives in a unique way. I am commerce and a law graduate. I pursued the legal profession for 10 years before embarking on the journey of entrepreneurship to pursue my passion.

Jigar

I am Jigar Mehta helping in Research and Business Development of Love Doodle. My main focus areas are into researching of new ideas and finding the right people who will execute the same for Love Doodle, at the same time alongside Dhruti I look into creating new sales avenues for Love Doodle. I am a lawyer too and currently juggling between my full-time job and supporting Love Doodle.

2.Are marriages truly made in heaven?

You definitely find soulmates on earth and that’s what makes your life heavenly.

3.Tell us about your journey of love and how you ended up working together?

We both are lawyers and met in law college. In our first year of college we barely spoke but by second-year things changed and we started interacting more. Lucky for us, we both had our offices also close by so we use to meet sometimes for coffee or a brief chat knowing little that we would actually end up falling for each other. Our bond of friendship was so strong that we did not have to complete sentences for each other, words would be exactly the way the other person thought. The question of who popped the question is debatable as we both had shared our feelings of being “more than friends” but then this one will be debated for life as we both are lawyers (LOL).

Nonetheless, we are in a blissful marital relationship and with the start of our marital relationship, the journey of Experiential Gifting also started. We vowed on our wedding day that we will indulge only in Experiential Gifting as we strongly believe that Experiences enrich and etch in the heart beautiful memories which last a lifetime. Initially, we curated experiences for our family and friends but with a strong push from a close friend of ours we formed and started Love Doodle, the venture that is close to our hearts, mind, and soul.

4.Why did you choose the profession you are currently in?

We are very passionate about Experience/ Activity based gifting and celebration as it really helps to connect people across relationships. In this digital age we are losing emotional connect very rapidly and seeing this we started Love Doodle to help people reconnect through meaningful and enriching gifting which is important, required and done at every juncture of life.

5.How does it feel as coworkers? Any pros & cons

Entrepreneurship is a very lonely journey so when your life partner shares the same passion and vision the journey becomes very exciting and meaningful.

Pros: Motivators, Pillar of support, Reliability, Stronger Team Work

Cons: You are talking work in and out

6.How fair is everything in love and war?

Everything is fair in business and war but not in love

7.Would you recommend co-working to other couples

Definitely but provided you share the same vision and passion

8.Difficulties you faced while fulfilling your dreams

We both are first generation entrepreneurs who are garnering the ropes of the business world. Challenges are plenty right from getting the apt logo, creating a business model, onboarding of Vendors including a renowned Dessert Company without having a background in business or even without having a visiting card at our first meeting.

Another big challenge was hiring the right type of agencies for Digital Marketing. Our first event in January 2016 itself was executed and announced more out of excitement that we had about Experiential Gifting without doing any sort of commercial or market research about the acceptance and willingness of Indians to this new concept of gifting and celebration. Post this all our events were and are thought through, strategically marketed and well timed. We still are bootstrapped and are happy about the way we have managed the business and finances.

9.What is the favorite quote you both believe in

“If you want to walk fast, walk alone. But if you want to walk far, walk together”

Ratan Tata

“If you want to walk fast, walk alone. But if you want to walk far, walk together” – Ratan Tata

10.Winning message to other couples

We love and go by this quote by Matt Cameron “No matter how much success you’re having, you can’t continue working together if you can’t communicate.”  And also don’t forget that you’ll are life partners first and then business partners, always make time for each other on the personal front and give space to the other person.
