Meet Rekha Jha, Founder Of Soul & Smile, An Entrepreneur For A Cause And Our WinningStree Of The Week!

Who are you and how are you into what you do?

My name is Rekha Jha, and I’m from Delhi. For the past 10 years, I have been thinking of innovative ways of putting my various degrees to use and have been doing my bit in social work in my own small ways. During the lockdown, I founded my own forum to motivate people called Soul & Smile. I chose to inspire people through my write-ups and poems. I associated with several renowned platforms, who gave me a voice, an opportunity to hone my writing and speaking skills.

Some of the organizations I have volunteered with are World Hope Foundation, Anon Global Foundation, NaariTV, Mahodari, DCOWE, Indian Working Women, and Winning Stree. Since the past 3 months, I have been regularly posting my videos online and going live to talk about topics such as “How to be happy and positive“, “Bachpan“, “How to start your day“, “How to fight COVID 19“, “Superstition“, “Parda“, “Women Empowerment“, “Domestic Violence” etc.

Tell us about your journey…

I believe I have been multi-talented and academically bright since my childhood. I have partaken in a variety of different fields, and have shone brightly at the top in all of them. I went up to state-level championship through the Sangam Kala Manch, completed my Civil Defence course with four pieces of training (communication, fire fighting, first aid, special warden course) and topped in all.

I did a course in Fashion Designing from Society for Self Employment and a beauty culture course from Oriflame. Besides these, I obtained my degrees, BA (Political Science), MA (Political Science) and B.Ed in first division from the University of Delhi. After all these, I was a homemaker for the most part of my adult life until I got a job at Titiksha Public School and slowly spread my wings towards fulfilling my passion for motivating people.

During the lockdown, I didn’t give in to negativity instead chose positivity and founded a positive platform called ‘Soul & Smile.’ I believe and dream of motivating as many people as I come across so that ‘Soul & Smile’ lives to serve its purpose to the society.

Power In Us

How did you get drawn towards Hindi language and poetry?

I am very proud of my country and its regional languages. I know English is a global language so we must learn this also but as a North Indian, I believe we should have respect for Hindi also. Nowadays some of us feel shame in speaking and writing Hindi. That’s why I started writing in Hindi and I feel very happy to see that people love to hear me speak in Hindi and love to read my poems in Hindi.

Is your choice of motivating people passion-driven?

Yes, it is. I love being a motivational speaker and doing my bit for the world via my platform Soul & Smile. I believe that all problems in the world can be sorted by calmly thinking and talking them through. And I believe that especially in these difficult times, it is all the more important for us to be there for each other, to support each other, and to become a safe space for people. As a trained pranic healer, my belief is that meditation is the route to healthy and positive living.

What are the problems that you have to deal with while trying to pursue your passion?

I don’t consider anything as a problem, I believe that everything is an opportunity.

How has the lockdown treated you so far?

If we want we can do anything even in lockdown. We should have faith in God and never ever lose heart. I do my best to take care of myself as well as that of my family and loved ones.

That Winningstree Moment…

When everyone in my family, my friends, and my loved ones said that they are proud of me. I also take immense pride in being the founder of Soul & Smile, my baby venture to motivate people.

Three words you say to yourself while in front of the mirror!

I am healthy

I am happy

I am loved

What makes you extraordinary?

I am a common woman. But yes, I believe that if one decides to do something and has faith in herself, she can do anything in any given circumstances and in any age as age is only a number. We should never give up.

Winning Message to Other Strees…

Be grateful

Be self-dependent

Be bold

Be happy

Be confident

Be you

What other things are you passionate about?

I love learning new things, singing, writing, reading, and traveling. Truly, the sky is the limit!

ग़र तूँ है ईश्वर घट घट में

क्यूँ ईंसान है फ़्हिर ईस भ्रम में

मन्दिर मस्जिद क्यूँ जुदा जुदा
