Who are you and how are you into what you do?
“I am Shikha Mittal, mother of a 6yr old, a hands-on mom plus a passionate fashion and jewelry designer.
Shikha Mittal 16 at heart, an NPTT teacher by educational qualification and fashion + jewelry designer by passion and profession.
I AM EVERYTHING RELATED TO CRAFT AND CREATIVITY.”
Tell us about your journey
“Saaj Sajja started 4 years back in 2014. We started with a vision of providing everything handcrafted and with a lot of creativity.”
“When my son turned 1.5 years old, I realized that sitting idle is not my cup of tea. Since childhood, I used to pack gifts in a unique manner for every family function and other get-together s. I even did trousseau packing’s for my wedding. So, creativity ran in my veins.”
“I thought of doing something about this creative side that I possessed. And just started thinking about it when one of my friends asked me to share a stall with her in a renowned exhibition showcasing my creativity. I grabbed the opportunity thrown my way immediately. Rakhi festival was just around the corner and my YES conveyed to my friend right then made me thank my stars later on.”
“My 1st ever exhibition was a great success. I ended up doing more exhibitions especially for festivals like Diwali, which were equally successful.”
“This is when my baby brand came into existence and I named her SAAJ SAJJA.”
“I was an online vendor since 2014 and gradually stepped into the next level of entrepreneurship by inaugurating my store on 12th March 2015.”
“Today at SAAJ SAJJA, we do customize and bespoke tailoring, trousseau packing, handcrafted & festive decor for Rakhi and Diwali, and also manufacture Gota and floral jewelry. I have hired about 2 to 4 employees who assist me in managing my venture at Saaj Sajja.”

What role would you have chosen as a career option if not Saaj Sajja?
“I just can’t imagine myself doing anything else than creativity. Still, since you are asking, I would have been a nursery teacher.”

Difficulties you faced when fulfilling your dreams/aspirations
“In these 4 years, there was only one difficulty that I faced and that was managing my work with my baby. Having a supportive husband and a doting mom came to my rescue and the problem was solved.
I now manage my work and my baby together very well. Both of them are my priority and I take care of both with all my heart.”
